Le Quang Liem

Vietnam’s top player and the 2013 World Blitz Champion. Le became a grandmaster in 2006 and broke through with back-to-back wins at the Aeroflot Open in 2010 and 2011.

He has played for Vietnam at the Olympiad since 2006. His best came in 2012, when he scored 8/10 on board one and led the team to seventh place, Vietnam’s best-ever finish. He won the Asian Championship in 2019.

He has lived in St. Louis since 2021, where he was head coach of Webster University’s chess team until the program ended in 2026.
