History

The Prague Chess Festival started in 2019 and has quickly become a fixture of the winter calendar. Its Masters is a ten-player round-robin, and the winner of the Challengers group earns a place in the following year’s Masters.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov is the only two-time winner, in 2024 and 2026. Its Challengers has launched several young players, including Ediz Gürel, who completed his grandmaster title by winning it in 2024.
