History
The Sinquefield Cup was created in 2013 by Rex Sinquefield, the founder of the Saint Louis Chess Club, to bring elite chess to the United States. It has been part of the Grand Chess Tour since 2015.
Fabiano Caruana’s 2014 win, with 8½/10 and a 3098 performance, is still one of the greatest tournament results in history. Wesley So has won it three times, including in both 2025 and 2026.
